Why should MoveableType users have all the fun!?  One of the great things about this product is the community support that’s out there for it – skins, add-on modules, etc.  There’s a great list of some of the default styles available for MT at http://www.moveabletype.org/default_styles.shtml.

So, what I decided to do for us .Text users is take a few of them and build .Text skins that look similar.  I’ve posted them all to the .Text Skins Article Category on this site as well as in this post.  Feel free to take these and use them on your own site – or even better – tweak them more and give them back to the community.  Enjoy.

MTClean – A very simple look.

MTTrendy – A cool, darker look.

MTGABlue – A clean-looking “Blue” look.

MTRusty – Rust-colored .Text lovin’

To install any of these skins, just unzip them and copy the folder in the zip file (named the same as the skin) to the \Skins directory of your .Text blog.  Then, edit the skins.config file in the \Admin directory of your .Text blog and add the following line to the list of configured skins:  <SkinTemplate SkinID = "skinname" Skin = "skinname" />.  Replace skinname with the name of the skin you’re installing – MTClean, MTTrendy, MTGABlue or MTRusty.  Once you’ve installed the skin, you can then go into the .Text administration tool and change the blog skin under Options-Configure.  If you have problems or questions, email me.
